In this fast-evolving field, our work placement programs stand out as the first and most reliable choice. Backed by more than 20 years of experience, we have successfully partnered with over 300 host companies across diverse business sectors to host interns. Our extensive network ensures that students gain hands-on experience in real workplace settings, bridging the gap between education and employment.

By connecting learners with leading organizations, we provide opportunities that foster professional growth, cultural exchange, and career readiness. Whether in engineering, business, hospitality, or emerging industries, our internships are tailored to meet both company needs and student aspirations. Work placements scouting and matching

Trainees can upload their personal data onto our online platform, including their CV, motivation letter, ID or passport, and any other relevant documents. They may also take part in a remote interview with our team to define their academic background, professional profile, and learning outcomes.

Based on this process, and in line with the ECVET and EQF principles, a list of skills and learning outcomes is developed. This serves as the foundation for drafting the work placement contract, which is signed by the trainee, the host company, and the IMY tutor.

Our scouting team then identifies suitable host companies according to each trainee’s profile, qualifications, professional experience, and preferred tasks.

During the initial phase of the process, our team remains fully available to provide support—whether in uploading data, clarifying skills and objectives, or addressing any other questions. The more detailed the information provided by the trainee, the better we can understand their profiles and expectations, ensuring an accurate match with the most suitable company and workplace.

Wide network of host companies

IMY has a wide network of selected companies across Tuscany, which serve as strategic partners to match the right internship opportunity with each student’s expectations. The main provinces covered by the IMY program in Tuscany are Pistoia, Lucca, Montecatini, Florence, and Prato. These areas offer a variety of companies, from small artisan businesses to big-sized entreprises.

According to Italian legislation, a work placement contract must be signed between the trainee, the host company, and the intermediary institution.

As an officially accredited Vocational Education and Training institution recognized by the Regional Government of Tuscany, we act as the intermediary institution and coordinate the contract.

The work placement contract includes all relevant information about the internship: start and end dates, working hours, the company’s legal status and address, project work, and tasks to be accomplished.

We also provide two types of insurance policies: one covering the trainee against personal injury and another covering third-party damages. Italian legislation requires that a work placement contract is signed between the trainee, the host company and the intermediary institution.

Our competency-based approach

Preparatory phase

- Analyse the trainee's characteristics, CV and expectations

- Define the objectives of the placement, content and duration

- Identify a company offering a work placement that matches the trainee's needs.

During the work placement

Monitoring the progress of the placement

- Ensure continuous communication among the trainee, us, the company and the sending educational institution abraod via our own database

Final phase

- Analyse and evaluate the results of the work placement, in terms of competencies, skills and abilities gained.

We continuously monitor and evaluate all activities throughout the placement period in order to issue a Europass Mobility Certificate at the end. This certificate includes a declaration from the host company detailing what competencies and other learning outcomes the student has accomplished during the internship experience.

On our online platform, students and teachers have access to the records of all activities during the placement.
Notifications and feedback is sent regularly by our team, so that teachers can monitor the whole process from their home country and the students can stay up do date with their internship activities.
